IT'S OUR FIRST BIRTHDAY 🎉! One year after the initial public release of Werewolf Online, we are happy to present you the changes of our anniversary update. It's one of the biggest updates yet. We finally added our account system and provide the possibility to login via your NextGlobe account. A dedicated account management website to change your global username and profile picture will follow soon. After logging in, you unlock a highly requested feature: the dark-mode. Now you can finally relax your eyes during the next game night. But thats not all: We also added a chat! This allows you to chat directly in-game without having to use a separate program. In the next updates, more chat features will follow - for example "Werewolf messages" (messages only visible to your Werewolf teammates). We made massive changes to the client (the "app" so to say) and drastically improved stability - but as we changed about 70-80% of the internal core, it may be possible that there will be a few new bugs. But don't worry, we will fix them as soon as we notice them or you report them (feedback form/email/Discord)!
We are happy to announce that we added a new role! It's one of the most loved roles in Werewolf, and now you can also play with this role in Werewolf Online: the seer. As always, you can fully customize the distribution and order. This already leads us to the bug fixes: There was a major issue regarding room customization that's now been fixed - after a room owner changed settings, those settings were applied to all rooms globally and persisted for newly created rooms. There were also some issues regarding role distribution. In some rare cases, roles wouldn't be distributed even though they should have, and in other cases roles were distributed that shouldn't have been distributed. The distribution algorithm now works again as expected. The game internals also have been restructured drastically. We also fixed some smaller bugs and improved things here and there.
It was possible for a room/game to break, if the game order was edited in the room settings. This should now be possible again without any problems.
The game end screen is now more clear. The role of every player is now revealed at the end of a game.
The game got stuck after the round summary in many cases. This bug is now resolved.
In rare cases an unexpected error occured because of the renaming feature. This should be fixed now.
We are happy to announce that we added a changelog page. On this page you can see every change to the game we ever made. You can also click on versions to display more information about a certain version (note: currently, the version page will display the same information as the overview page). We also improved the room creation process - you can now set a player limit before creating a room and you may apply promotional codes in the upper right corner of the room creation card. You can try it out by applying the code "ZeroSeven" - it is valid until 30.04.2021 and will increase the player limit to 14 players per room (normally without a NextGlobe One subscription, a maximum of 10 players can be selected). Furthermore, we added the possibility to rename oneself in the room overview on request. Renaming now also works by clicking on your username, not only by clicking on the edit (pen) button.
We are now displaying the translators that contributed to the translation of the game in the language currently selected. We also fixed two crash bugs and multiple critical bugs in our backend that caused game freezes. Customizing the game order was also fixed in this version.
We fixed multiple crashes ('An unexpected error occured'). Page loading speeds were also optimized.
From now on the room owners language in the room link when sharing/copying it is included. This enables players joining over the room owner's link to automatically select the language of the room owner. Prevent flickering after voting for a player.

Added a voting summary. Now displaying votes with weight information during the voting. The vote selection now provides a better user experience (you don't have to de-select a vote anymore to select another vote). Now showing who voted whom if the setting is enabled in the room settings. Now displaying remaining innocents/werewolves in the game end screen. Now the player name gets automatically saved when renaming if you click outside of the input field. Dead players can now spectate votings where everyone can vote (e.g. the kill voting). Fixed other small bugs.

Improved user experience and design of the privacy setting dialog - it is now possible to create rooms and play games without having to accept or decline anything.
The code has been optimized which in turn should cause a small performance boost.
It is now possible to see if you got coupled by the Amor - with it came the option to disable this behaviour in the room settings. Now the current version of the game is displayed in the bottom right while playing a game - the design has been improved and was optimized for small screens. General layout improvements for small screens. Death screen is now more clear. Spectators now also are able to see the remaining players in the round summary. Fixed crashes that would occur when spectating a game. Fixed various translation bugs.

Improved loading speed of the website by loading certain libraries only after performing certain actions. Fixed a bug that could occur if the API is not reachable while opening the website for the first time. Also fixed some layout bugs that would occur in Safari.
Release of the game for everyone. Added possiblity to take notes on players while others are taking action, added spectator mode, added game relevant information in the bottom right corner.
Added the possibility to vote. The game is almost finished - it is getting tested thoroughly to find bugs or to find improvements that can be implemented.

Added order settings - it is now possible to change the order of the game or disable certain things in the game cycle. Games can be started and use the settings provided by the room.
Implemented basic functionality like the possiblity to create and join rooms, switch languages, change the username, etc.
Werewolf Online was born. It can do exactly nothing, but it exists. A long journey will be in front of it
